Resort Review: Grand Hyatt Baha Mar (Nassau, Bahamas)

Updated: May 21, 2019

Grand Hyatt Baha Mar - Nassau, Bahamas Oct 20-29, 2018 Taxi from airport - $20 USD each direction (about 10 minutes) Not all-inclusive (resort fees include site-wide Wi-Fi) Stay and play privileges at SLS, Rosewood, and Melia Nassau Beach Great for singles, couples, groups

Fountain view queen room with small balcony - great size room with 2 queen beds, lots of natural light, good size bathroom. Room had a small balcony with 2 chairs and a small table (every second floor in the west tower had a smaller balcony without room for chairs). Room had a coffee maker, mini bar ($), plenty of plugs/charging locations. A mini fridge is available by request.

Pools - three good sizes pools with plenty of chairs (in sun or shade), cabanas available ($), swim up bar (with other bars/restaurants/food trucks nearby all pools), hot tubs, area for jumping off a rock into the pool, aquarium area, and more. The grounds are really lovely and very well maintained here. Flamingos and some other marine creatures on resort.

Restaurants - Spread across the SLS, Grand Hyatt Baha Mar, and Rosewood are plenty of restaurant options, including several Asian options, Italian, Mediterranean, pub, Mexican, BBQ, sandwiches, poolside, buffet, cafe, Starbucks, and more. Pricing is in the mid-high range.

Beach - the beach is large and well kept, with continual beach cleanup and seaweed removal as needed. Beach and pools have life guards on hand for specified hours each day. Plenty of chairs and umbrellas available. At my time of visit, there was construction happening on the dock, but it was not really off-putting in any way. There is construction underway between the SLS and Melia, with talk of a water park going in that location.

Also at this resort - casino, spa, night club, piano bar, fitness center, shops (with locally made items), high-end shopping, art gallery, tennis courts, fountain show, nightly movies at the pool, and kids club.

Free shuttle to other nearby resorts and golf club, and connected to the grounds of the Conference Center. There's not much else going on near this resort (a small straw market nearby), but there is a local bus ($) that goes downtown frequently.
