Tour Review: Playa del Carmen Food Tour

For a fun activity off resort when staying in the Riviera Maya, why not consider a food tour? This was perfect tour for foodies, where we shopped for ingredients at a street market and a few small shops in Playa del Carmen, and then made our way to La Parrilla to prepare them for our feast. If you're staying in Cancun, there's an option for a similar tour there as well.

We made rice pudding, guacamole, pico, and tortillas - including nearly all of the prep work and hands-on with a real chef in small group. We tried local fruits, ate our weight in guac and chips, enjoyed some tasty margaritas, and then sampled so many other delicious bites the chef made with items we had prepped. We definitely didn't leave hungry. Our chef Angel was friendly, patient, and fun - highly recommend. The overall value of the tour was very good - in addition to all the food and drinks, it also included pickup and drop-off from our resort, and a little recipe booklet to take home. Angel did a great job accounting for dietary restrictions and allergies as well.

If you're heading to the Riviera Maya, Playa del Carmen, or Cancun and think this is an activity you might enjoy - get in touch. I'm happy to help! ange.f@gotravelcompany.com
